Worshippers trapped as fire guts Ibadan church during night vigil

The Christ Apostolic Church in Ibadan, Oyo State was on Friday night engulfed by a fire outbreak.

It was gathered that the fire incident occurred during the church’s night vigil trapping several worshippers in the building.

Sources around the location said the fire started at about 9.30 pm at the church located in Wisdom Estate, Road 1G, Olohunda Road, in the Lagelu Local Government Area of Oyo.

A source said, “There was an aged woman, very old to the extent that she could not work properly. She was still inside the church when the fire was raging seriously.”

The general manager of the Oyo State Fire Services, Akinyemi Akinyinka who confirmed the incident said firefighters were already on top of the situation.

He said, “Our men were there based on information from one Kunle Junaid.”
