You should employ at least 100 locals for this job, Wike tells contractor

The minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike has mandated the contractor working on a road project in Kwali Area Council must employ at least 100 locals.

Speaking during the inaugurating the construction of the 15-kilometre road from Abuja to Lokoja Expressway (A2) to Pai, in Kwali Area Council of the FCT, the minister said it is important that jobs are created through these contracts.

He also stated that t he project which was awarded to Zeberced Group is expected to be completed within the next six months.

According to Wike, the employment of local services for the job would give families the avenue to make money to feed their families.

He said, “I would like to advise the company to please employ our people, give them jobs, give them contracts so that they will be able to feed their people.

“The whole essence of this job we are doing is also to create employment.’’
