Lagos House of Assembly Members Storm DSS Office Over Detention Of Colleagues

Members of the Lagos State House of Assembly have stormed the Department of State Security Office in the Magodo area of the state.

Their visit is reportedly connected to the detention of two of their colleagues, Hon. Lanre Afinni and Hon. Sylvester Ogunkelu, who were invited for questioning relating to issues of the state assembly.

One of the detained lawmakers has been released, while the other remains in DSS custody.

The lawmakers who visited the DSS office included Hon. Abiodun Tobun (Epe constituency), Hon. Gbolahan Yishawu (Eti-Osa constituency two), Hon. Kehinde Joseph (Alimosho constituency two), Hon. Solomon Bonu (Badagry constituency one), and several others.

This development comes amid rising tensions following the sack of the former speaker of the House, Mudashiru Obasa.
