NSCDC kills four terrorists, rescues kidnapped victims in Katsina

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Katsina Command, has neutralized four suspected terrorists and rescued three kidnapped victims in Dutsinma Local Government Area of the state.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer, SC Buhari Hamisu, confirmed the development in a statement on Monday, February 24, stating that operatives successfully repelled two separate attacks.

According to Hamisu, the first attack occurred on February 21 when suspected armed bandits stormed the permanent site of Federal University Dutsinma (FUDMA). NSCDC officers engaged the assailants, killing three criminals, including the notorious Ayuba Buzaru.

He said in another operation on February 23, NSCDC personnel, in collaboration with the police, thwarted an attempted attack on the Federal Government Special Grains Reserve in Darawa.

According to him, one bandit was killed while others escaped with gunshot wounds.

He added that the body of the slain suspect has been deposited at the General Hospital Dutsinma.

Hamisu noted that armed bandits have repeatedly attempted to raid the grains reserve, which stores food supplies for Katsina, Zamfara, and Sokoto States.

The NSCDC reassured residents of its commitment to security and the protection of critical national assets and infrastructure across the state and the nation.
