Victor Osimhen scored his 17th goal of the season to help Galatasaray win 1-0 against Alanyaspor in the Turkish Super Lig on Sunday.
The goal, a header in the 82nd minute, was the only one of the match and gives Galatasaray a seven-point lead over second-placed Fenerbahce, who still have a game in hand.
Tanju Çolak, a Galatasaray legend and football expert, praised Osimhen for his determination and ambition. After a recent 3-3 draw with Kasımpaşa, Çolak noticed how upset Osimhen was, showing his drive to succeed. “I saw Victor Osimhen after the Kasımpaşa match, he was almost in tears with sadness. Which football player has this ambition and determination?” Çolak said.
Osimhen has settled into life in Turkey, scoring 17 goals in 21 Super Lig games this season, despite a slow start.
