Chelsea legend John Mikel Obi has expressed hope that his fellow Nigerian, Victor Osimhen, will join the Blues this summer.
Osimhen was close to completing a move from Napoli to Chelsea last summer, but the deal fell through due to wage demands.
The 26-year-old striker has again been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, as Chelsea look to strengthen their attack ahead of the new season.
Manchester United are also said to be interested in signing Osimhen, while a potential big-money move to Saudi Arabia remains an option.
Speaking as a pundit on beIN Sports, Mikel shared his desire to see Osimhen play for his former club.
“He (Osimhen) wants to play for Chelsea. I hope he’ll be playing his football somewhere in the Premier League next season. I hope he comes,” said Mikel.
“I know where we stopped with the contract. I know where we are. It’s an easy fix because we’ve done all the hard work last summer.”
