Ruggedman, Sunny Neji And Others Arrested Over Alleged PMAN Burglary And Theft

Nigerian rapper Ruggedman (Michael Ugochukwu Stephens), Sunny Neji, Zakky Azzay, Boniface Itodo, and Raymond Lasisi have been arrested for allegedly breaking into the Performing Musicians Employers’ Association of Nigeria (PMAN) secretariat in Lekki, Lagos.

The artists, reportedly suspended or expelled members, are accused of stealing $130,000 and two MacBook Pros during the August 2024 incident while PMAN President Pretty Okafor was abroad.

Despite prior police warnings, the group allegedly returned on May 8, 2025, attempting to reclaim control of the office, leading to their re-arrest.

PMAN emphasized the matter is criminal, not internal politics, stating investigations are complete and prosecution will follow. None of the accused have publicly responded yet.
