Kwara United head coach, Tunde Sanni, has dismissed any notion of pressure as his side prepares for a historic showdown against Abakaliki FC in the final of the 2024 President Federation Cup, scheduled for Saturday at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos.
Addressing journalists at a pre-match press conference organized by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Sanni expressed confidence in the readiness of his team—both mentally and physically.

“I am not under any pressure,” Sanni declared. “My team is battle-ready. The boys are in great shape and understand the importance of this moment.”
A former captain of Kwara United, Sanni is chasing a dream that eluded him as a player—lifting the coveted Federation Cup.
“We never won this trophy during my playing days. Now, as the coach, I want to achieve it for Kwara. This is our time,” he said, underscoring the emotional and symbolic weight of the final.
While showing respect for underdogs Abakaliki FC, who have stunned many to reach the final, Sanni maintained his side would not be complacent.
“We are not underrating Abakaliki FC. They earned their place in the final. But we are going in with full concentration and commitment,” he stated.
Team captain Kabir Mohammed echoed the coach’s sentiments, affirming the squad’s unity and focus ahead of the crucial clash.
“There are no injury concerns in camp. Everyone is fully fit and focused. We are determined to bring the trophy to Kwara for the first time,” Mohammed assured.
Saturday’s final marks a pivotal moment for Kwara United, who are aiming to etch their name into the history books by clinching their first-ever President Federation Cup title.
