Bayelsa Pre-season Football Tournament – Bayelsa United Resume Camp for Pre-season Tourney

Bayelsa United earlier today trained at the Samson Siasia Stadium in preparation for the Bayelsa Pre-season Football Tournament slated for 10th through the 16th of August, 2025.

‎The Prosperity Boys, Bayelsa United on Wednesday arrived in the Oil City of Eket in Akwa Ibom State for as it steps up its Pre Season Training with a Closed Camping Exercise starting from the 30th of July ahead of the 2025/2026 Nigeria Premier League Season.

The team’s involve in the pre-season tournament includes: Warri Wolves, El-Kanemi Warriors, Enugu Rangers, Eternal Grace Ministries FC, Bendel Insurance, and the host Bayelsa United FC alongside the B-Team U20.

Former Aiteo Cup champions, Bayelsa United, will begin their 2025/26 campaign in the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, away to Shooting Stars of Ibadan.

The Prosperity Boys beat Shooting Stars 3-0 last season at the Samson Siasia Stadium, Yenagoa, Bayelsa, with goals from Ifeanyi Ogba, Magbisa WisdomIfeanyi Ogba ensuring that the Oluyole Warriors returned home empty-handed.

According to the draws released at the Annual General Meeting, AGM held in Abuja, the nation’s capital, the “Prosperity Boys” will lock horns against Shooting Stars at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan on match-day one.

The new season is scheduled to commence on August 22, 2025 as the league champions battle Rivers United in what could be described as the star match of the weekend while Abia Warriors will take on Kano Pillars just as Wikki Tourists will entertain Plateau United.

Speaking shortly after the draws, chairman of Bayelsa United, Dr. Tarilaye Nwankwe expressed readiness ahead of the new NPFL season, stating that preparations for the new NPFL season are in top gear.

He noted that the team is focused on giving its very best when the season commences next month, pointing out that the lads are determined to entertain Bayelsans with good football.

“I am confident that we are going to have a successful season, the team is focused, coupled with the government support. We are going to approach all our games like a cup tie because we want to see ourselves on the podium at the end of the season,” Nwankwe stated.
