In a groundbreaking move that signals a new era for Nigerian football, Fodox Sports, a leading European sportswear manufacturer, has signed a five-year kits partnership deal with the Ondo State Football Agency (ODSFA) — the first of its kind in the history of any Nigerian club.
The landmark agreement, unveiled at a colourful ceremony held at the Games Village, Oda Road, Akure, will see Fodox Sports supply kits and sportswear for all ODSFA teams, including Sunshine Stars FC, Sunshine Queens FC, and the Sunshine Stars U-19 team.

Speaking at the event, ODSFA Chairman, Mr. Divine Ogbonnaya, described the deal as a “remarkable step forward” for football development in Ondo State. He expressed gratitude to Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa for his unwavering support for sports, noting that the new partnership reflects the Governor’s vision for excellence and global exposure in sports administration.
“This partnership is a testament to how far we’ve come under Governor Aiyedatiwa’s leadership. It’s a win for our players, coaches, fans, and the entire Ondo football community,” Mr. Ogbonnaya stated.
Representing the Governor, the Commissioner for Youth Development and Sports, Hon. Oluwasegun Henry Omoyofunmi, lauded the ODSFA chairman’s leadership, describing the deal as “incredible and unprecedented”. He reaffirmed the state government’s continued support for the agency and its teams.
The Director of Fodox Sportswear, Mr. Adrovic Senad, expressed excitement about the partnership, highlighting that it marks Fodox’s first long-term deal with a Nigerian football outfit. He praised Sunshine Stars’ rich history and growing global reputation, assuring fans of high-quality sportswear and equipment that meet international standards.
The unveiling ceremony featured the presentation of the newly designed kits by the captains of Sunshine Stars, Sunshine Queens, and Sunshine Stars U-19, drawing loud cheers from fans, government officials, and sports stakeholders in attendance.
Mr. Segun Giwa, Chairman of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Ondo State Chapter, hailed the partnership as “massive and a morale booster” for football in the state. Similarly, Hon. Akinrotoye Kehinde, the Governor’s Senior Special Assistant on Sports, said the deal would inspire better performances and professionalism across all ODSFA teams.
The event was attended by dignitaries from the Ondo State Football Coaches Association, Referees Council, Veterans All Stars Association, Supporters’ Clubs, and the Football Association, among others.
