Ukwa Village Triumphs Over Idung Udofa as Ward 2 Urban Unity Cup Heats Up in Eket

Day Two of the Ward 2 Urban Unity Cup produced another thrilling display of grassroots football and an impressive turnout of supporters from across Eket city, as Ukwa Village secured a deserved 2-0 victory over Idung Udofa on Monday, October 6.

The match, played at the Holy Child Primary School, Idua, saw both teams engage in a fiercely contested first half that ended goalless, despite several promising chances on both ends. The intensity remained high, but it was Ukwa Village, fondly known as the Lions, who emerged stronger in the second half with renewed determination and sharper attacking play.

Star forward Oxygen stole the spotlight with a brilliant performance, scoring both goals for Ukwa Village. His brace came after pouncing on two defensive lapses from Idung Udofa, ensuring his side claimed a vital three points and a place at the top of the group standings.

With the win, Ukwa Village now lead the group with three points, while Idua and Atabong remain level on one point each, both still in contention for the second qualifying spot.

Football lovers can expect more excitement as Ekpene Ukpa Village face Atabong in the Day Three fixture scheduled for today at 4:00 p.m. at the same venue.
