National Coordinator of the Movement, Yunusa Tanko, has acknowledged the recent resignations of the Director of Mobilisation, Morris Monye and other interim appointees.
Naija News recalls that Monye, in a statement personally signed, accused the former presidential candidate, Peter Obi, of neglecting the movement.
He claimed that there was no communication between Obi and the Obidient Movement.
Monye cited what he described as the Movement’s unfulfilled goals, lack of structure and personal harassment as reasons for his resignation.
According to him, despite his passion and financial commitment to the movement promoting Obi’s presidential ambition, the poor performance during the recent Anambra election made his position “untenable.”
In response, Tanko, in a statement issued on Saturday, expressed the organisation’s gratitude to all for their service to “the shared mission of rescuing Nigeria from bankrupt politics.”
He added, “We encourage everyone to remain steadfast and continue to contribute positively to the process of renewal and growth. Together, we will emerge stronger and more united in the pursuit of our shared vision for a new Nigeria.
“As a movement we shall continue to raise the bar of participation in governance and at no time descend into activities that are not edifying of our nation such as spying, bigotry or thuggery.
“Soonest, and after due consultation, we will announce the next line of actions that will make the Obidient Movement the vanguard of national redemption and transformation. Let us keep faith with the mission.”
