Super Eagles Can Remedy Their Errors At AFCON 2025 – Garba Lawal

Former Super Eagles’ midfield battler, Garba Chindo Lawal has charged the Nigerian team’s current set of players to use the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations to remedy their recent errors of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, Sports247 reports.

The former Roda J.C. Kerkrade of Netherlands utility player admitted that most of the Eagles’ stars disappointed their fans at the World Cup qualification play-offs, but conceded that it’s up to the coach, Eric Chelle, to retain them for AFCON 2025 or not.

Lawal retorted, “If he wants to bring fresh legs, he can do it …. but he must know it’s no longer far from now and it’s very close.

“I just hope they will be ready for the AFCON. I know they can win it, but they have to put their act together, because it’s not going to be an easy task.”

The very mobile and ever-reliable left-footer then provided some tips on what the Eagles’ players and crew should do in order to ensure they win AFCON 2025 when it comes to an end in January.

“They have to do a self-critic of their current form. They must look at themselves and check to see what they did in their last two games at the play-offs.

“They did their best, but their best was not good enough. So, they must go back to the drawing board and remedy their errors in order to win the AFCON,” Lawal emphasised.
