Zamfara Political Shake-up: Two APC Lawmakers Defect to PDP

The Zamfara State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced that two members of the State House of Assembly have left the All Progressives Congress (APC) to join its ranks.

The lawmakers are Hon. Sulaiman Hassan Bosko, who represents Mafara I Constituency, and Hon. Nura Dahiru, who represents Birnin Magaji Constituency. The party confirmed their defection in a statement signed by its publicity secretary, Halliru Andi.

According to the PDP, the move by the two lawmakers shows the level of internal problems and leadership challenges currently affecting the APC in Zamfara.

The statement said the lawmakers chose the PDP because they wanted stability, progress, and better leadership.

The PDP also said the lawmakers were motivated by the leadership style of Governor Dauda Lawal, praising his work on security, infrastructure, transparency, and overall governance.

The party welcomed both lawmakers, saying their decision strengthens the PDP and boosts public confidence in its ability to deliver good governance in the state.

“The PDP Zamfara State Chapter warmly welcomes the two honourable legislators into the party. Their coming further strengthens our movement and reinforces the confidence of the people in the PDP as the only party capable of delivering genuine development and good governance.”

“We assure them of full integration and cooperation as we continue working together for a safer, stronger, and more prosperous Zamfara State.”
