JUST IN: Two killed as bandits attack Zamfara community, abduct residents

Bandits have killed two people and abducted several others in an attack along the Wanke–Bawa Ganga road near Kwaren-ganuwa in Tsafe local government area of Zamfara state.

The attackers were also said to have extorted money from residents, burned vehicles and motorcycles, and kidnapped the owner of one of the vehicles.

The incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon.

A user identified as Bakatsine, who shared the development on X, said the persistent attacks have left communities vulnerable.

His words: “It is deeply worrying that such attacks continue unabated across the northwest region.

“Communities remain vulnerable as bandits move freely, carrying out killings, kidnappings and destruction with little resistance. This insecurity is eroding public confidence in government and worsening daily hardship.”

Zamfara, like other states in the northwest, has continued to experience banditry despite ongoing military operations in the region.
