In a move reflecting his administration’s commitment to sports development, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) has named Adeboye Adeyinka, popularly known as Zulu, as the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Grassroots Sports Development.
Zulu, a seasoned sports administrator with a proven track record, previously served as the Special Assistant to Senator John Enoh, the immediate past Minister of Sports.
His career in sports administration spans decades, marked by a deep focus on grassroots engagement and development. Zulu also held key roles in Lagos State’s sports initiatives, working under four consecutive governors to champion the cause of grassroots sports.
The appointment signals a renewed focus on revitalizing the National Sports Commission’s mission, which aims to elevate Nigerian sports on both the national and global stages.
Adeyinka’s expertise in grassroots programs is expected to help create a robust talent pipeline, ensuring that young athletes across Nigeria are identified, nurtured, and given the resources to excel.
