BREAKING: One dead, four injured as bomb blast rocks Abuja school

Tragedy struck on Monday, January 6, 2025, in Kuchibiyu community, Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), when a bomb explosion at an Islamiyyah school left one student dead and four others critically injured.

The explosion occurred around noon in the quiet community located about 42 kilometres from Abuja’s city centre.

Emergency response teams, including the police bomb disposal squad, swiftly arrived at the scene, while the injured students were rushed to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention.

A security source revealed that the deceased student was reportedly carrying a substance suspected to be an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) when it detonated.

However, official statements from security and police authorities are yet to be released.
