Nathaniel Bassey to Celebrate His Birthday with Kirikiri Inmates

Renowned gospel singer and pastor, Nathaniel Bassey, has announced that he will mark his 44th birthday on Thursday with inmates at the Kirikiri Medium Security Prison in Lagos.

In a post on his Instagram page, Bassey revealed that the celebration will feature a special one-day edition of the Halleluyah Challenge, his globally recognized worship movement.

“Tomorrow for my birthday, I praise and celebrate with my brethren in prison,” he wrote, adding that the event would be a time of vibrant worship and fellowship with the inmates.

Launched in 2017, the Halleluyah Challenge has grown into one of Africa’s largest online prayer and worship gatherings, bringing together thousands of believers for one hour of nightly worship. The movement has been credited with inspiring testimonies of healing, deliverance, and answered prayers across the world.

By choosing to celebrate his birthday behind prison walls, Nathaniel Bassey says he hopes to share the message of hope, joy, and freedom through worship with those behind bars.
