‘APC Don’t Use Thugs’ – Zazzaga Counters ADC’s Allegation

The North-Central All Progressives Congress (APC) Forum Chairman, Saleh Zazzaga, has dissociated the party from the attacks on African Democratic Congress (ADC) members.

Naija News reports that the ADC had accused the APC of suppressing opposition and setting the stage for violent elections in 2027.

The ADC’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, in an interview with Punch, alleged that the violent assaults on its members were becoming a pattern in all states controlled by the APC.

Abdullahi said ADC will petition the international community, including the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS)  Court of Justice, about what its members are going through in the country.

In response, APC chieftain, Zazzaga, denied any move to suppress opposition and urged ADC leaders to look inward, stressing some of their leaders were known for political violence.

He said, “If you look at the political history of some of their leaders, it will show that they are professionals in using thugs in political activities.

“We (APC) don’t use thugs. We only advise them to go to school. The ADC can do their own thing and claim that it was from the ruling party. It is not true. We are not using thugs against anybody.

“If they said we don’t want their party to grow, can you allow your enemy to have weapons to kill you? Let them go and work hard. It’s not us that will give them what they need to grow.

“Nigerians also know who the ADC leaders are; they know their past records, which will shape the growth of the party. They have served in different capacities, and Nigerians know them. That is why they (ADC) are not growing. Nobody will join ADC because of their past records.”
