Super Eagles Forward Ademola Lookman Gets New Boss as Palladino Replaces Juric at Atalanta

Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman will now work under a new manager following Atalanta’s appointment of Raffaele Palladino as head coach.

The club confirmed Palladino’s arrival on Monday, shortly after announcing the dismissal of Ivan Juric, who was relieved of his duties after a string of disappointing results.

The 41-year-old Italian tactician has signed a contract that will keep him in Bergamo until June 2027, signaling the start of a new chapter for La Dea as they aim to revive their Serie A campaign and maintain competitiveness on the European front.

Atalanta’s 3–0 home defeat to newly promoted Sassuolo proved to be the final straw for Juric, marking their fourth loss in 11 league matches and prompting swift action from the club’s hierarchy.

Palladino’s immediate task will be to stabilize Atalanta’s league form and restore confidence within the squad, including rekindling the attacking spark of Lookman, who has struggled to replicate last season’s impressive form.

Before taking the Atalanta job, Palladino managed Fiorentina, earning praise for his attacking brand of football and his trust in young players, despite a mixed end to his tenure with La Viola.

Atalanta CEO Luca Percassi expressed confidence in the new appointment, stating that the club believes Palladino is “the right man to lead Atalanta into its next phase of growth.”

Palladino’s deal runs until June 30, 2027, according to the club’s official statement
