61-year-old man caught with fake Nigerian passport and driving licence in UK

Banjo Osibemekun, a 61-year-old resident of William Street, Swanmore, in the United Kingdom, has pleaded guilty to possessing a false Nigerian passport and a counterfeit British driving licence.

The offences occurred between October 29, 2009, and July 18, 2024.

Appearing at Isle of Wight Crown Court on Monday, November 18, Osibemekun admitted the charges brought against him.

His defence counsel, Oscar Vincent, requested a pre-sentence report, citing factors affecting his client that might inform sentencing.

The presiding judge, William Ashcroft granted the request and adjourned the case until February 6, 2025, when Osibemekun will return to the same court to learn his fate.

Osibemekun was released on unconditional bail until the sentencing date.
